We've been having a great time at the Robin Hood's Faire at the Harwinton Fairgrounds in Harwinton, CT!  We have one weekend left!   We have a couple of weeks off, then our sister shop, There Was A Star Danced , will head to the Maine Renaissance Faire in Acton, ME for two weekends at the end of July.  Both booths will be at the Massachusetts Renaissance Faire  in Cummington, MA (in the beautiful Berkshires of Western Mass) in August! Charitable Giving We're pleased to have made two microlending loans this month, one each in Colombia and Bolivia !  We chose these countries as part of our efforts to support people in the places where our art forms come from, in this case, Jagua/genipa americana, and the Amazon Rainforest!  We also made a donation to The Rainforest Alliance !

Here at North Star Henna, we acknowledge that we have no direct ties to the cultures, peoples, places, and heritage from which the diverse henna traditions of the world have descended to the modern day. In seeking to stay on the right side of appreciation vs. appropriation, one of the ways in which we give thanks to those cultures and peoples and places is by offering support in ways that we’re able. One of them is putting a portion of all proceeds (in $25 increments, or by “topping up” to the next $25 increment) into microlending through the Kiva.org platform. Our most-recent loan, with this month’s repayments, is going towards Nazia's success in Pakistan. You’re most welcome to join us on this loan, or to find another loan!

Greetings, henna friends!  (And glitter, and jagua, and, and...!)  We here at North Star Henna are really hoping to have events this year, and to get to see you in person!  We're fully-vaccinated, and rarin' to go! The first event on our calendar this season is the recently-relaunched Robin Hood's Faire , a partner project of the Connecticut Renaissance Faire !  Saturdays and Sundays, from 10:30 AM-6:00 PM, May 22 through June 20, 2021!  Opening weekend is Friends & Family Weekend!  The new site will be at the Harwinton Fairgrounds .  Tickets go on sale next week, we can't wait to see you! And we're live!  As mentioned over on Facebook , we'd planned to have our Hand Sanitizer Gel available at events this season...  But this event season went pear-shaped with the COVID-19 outbreak...  So we're going online early!  Join us for the launch of shop.northstarhenna.com to pick up some North Star Henna Hand Sanitizer Gel for yourself and your loved ones!  Currently available in unscented, we'll hopefully have our Green Tea scent available within the week.  Current recipe is 62% alcohol (future batches will be 70%). Our gel is commercially manufactured here in the USA in a FDA-registered facility. Since we're going live "early," we'll also look at posting some of our other body products soon, like salt scrub!
